Posterista is the brainchild of our Creative Director James Cowdale and Brand Consultant Marc Phelps.
Marc says… Posterista was borne of need. “It really hit home for me when a friend recounted a story of his 4-year-old asking him why there were plenty of images of her brothers and sisters printed around the house, yet none of her. As the youngest, she was born as social media was really taking off – and while her father’s social profiles were filled with treasured snaps of her, he hadn’t taken the time to actually print these to show them off around the home.”\ Brand \ Design \ Digital
Parallax Website, Bespoke Online App, Online Video Tutorial, Viral Launch Advert
By far, the hardest project Third Floor have ever undertaken. We had to play both client and customer which is quite often a recipe for disaster.
The brief was simple…
Create a beautiful parallax website that sold the concept of Posterista. We had to explain how it all worked, the products available and what to do next. We wanted to push the boundaries of web design and produce something that would also become a showcase for Third Floor’s expertise as a web design agency.
Next, we had to design, code and build the online app that allowed users to create the posters. We had allowed a 3 month window to complete the branding, design and build of Posterista. This required our development team to produce both sites alongside one another to ensure consistency and a seamless connection between them.
Having completed hours of research we had set the bar high for the app. There were a number of things it needed to do…
• Allow users to login using their social network username and passwords
• Give the user a live preview of their posters
• Allow them to delete, shuffle, change colours and resize the frame
• Allow them to preview before purchase
• Automatically update pricing based on their selections
As with any project, we wanted to future proof the technology and therefore everything was coded from scratch. With this level of understanding we’re able to continually develop the software and add new features. Posterista has been launched for a couple of months now and we are really pleased with the response so far. As a team we are very proud of our creation and with the experienced gained from this project we hope to help our clients launch online businesses in the future.
